Tarceva Indications

As a type of tyrosine kinase inhibitor, Tarceva® (erlotinib) is a medication that blocks certain proteins in the body in order to fight cancer. Specifically, Tarceva is indicated in advanced cases of the following conditions:
 
When used for non-small cell lung cancer, it may be used on its own. However, when prescribed for pancreatic cancer, Tarceva is used in combination with another medication known as gemcitabine (Gemzar®). Tarceva is currently approved for use in adults only.
