Lung Problems After Pneumonectomy

There are several kinds of lung problems that can happen after a pneumonectomy. Some of these are:

  • Pneumonia
  • Blood or fluid in or outside the lung
  • Bleeding
  • Lung failure.

Patients who already have lung disease have a greater chance of experiencing lung problems after a pneumonectomy. The treatment will depend on how it happened and how severe the problem is. If there is a problem, your healthcare professional will talk with you about what the best treatment is for your situation.
