Who Should Not Take Paclitaxel?

You should not take paclitaxel if you:
 
  • Are allergic to paclitaxel, Taxol, or any inactive components used to make the medication. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
     
  • Have a low neutrophil count (below 1500 cells/mm3) before starting paclitaxel (or less than 1000 cells/mm3 for people with AIDS-related Kaposi's sarcoma).
