Nicorette Gum for Denture Wearers

Although Nicorette® Gum (nicotine gum) may be an effective method of helping people stop smoking, it is not suitable for everyone. For instance, if you wear dentures, be aware that Nicorette Gum may potentially damage dentures. Using this gum can also damage other types of dental work, including fillings and dental caps.

In addition, the excessive chewing needed to use Nicorette Gum may cause soreness and pain of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) -- the joint where the lower jawbone connects to the skull. Talk to your healthcare provider if you experience jaw pain that is bothersome, severe, or does not go away.
