How Does Navelbine Work?

A healthcare provider may recommend chemotherapy treatment with Navelbine® (vinorelbine) to adults who have non-small cell lung cancer. But how does Navelbine work to treat this type of cancer?

As part of a group of chemotherapy drugs called vinca alkaloids, vinorelbine works by preventing the formation of structures inside cells known as microtubules. Microtubules play an important part in helping cells divide and multiply.

By stopping the formation of microtubules, vinorelbine prevents cells from growing and dividing, which causes the cells to die.
