To help avoid potential drug interactions with Xalkori, your healthcare provider needs to know about all prescription and nonprescription medications you are taking, as well as any vitamins and herbal supplements. For example, negative reactions can occur if Xalkori is combined with echinacea, antidepressants, and benzodiazepines. Some of these combinations can lead to potentially serious and even life-threatening problems.

An Overview of Interactions With Xalkori

Xalkori® (crizotinib) may react with a number of other medications. Some of the drugs that can interact with Xalkori include but are not limited to:
 
 
 
  • Certain benzodiazepines, such as:
 
 
 
 
 
 
  • CYP 3A4 inhibitor medications, such as:
 
 
 
    • Bromocriptine (Parlodel®)
    • Dihydroergotamine (Migranal®)
    • Ergonovine
    • Ergotamine (Cafergot®, Ergomar®)
    • Methylergonovine (Methergine®)
    • Pergolide (Permax®)
 
 
  • P-glycoprotein inducers, such as:
 
    • Carbamazepine (Carbatrol®, Epitol®, Equetro®, Tegretol®)
    • Dexamethasone (Decadron®)
    • Doxorubicin (Adriamycin®, Doxil®)
    • Nefazodone (Serzone®)
    • Prazosin (Minipress®)
    • Rifampin (Rifadin®)
    • St. John's wort
    • Tipranavir (Aptivus®)
    • Trazodone (Desyrel®) and trazodone ER (Oleptro™)
    • Vinblastine
 
  • P-glycoprotein inhibitors, such as:
