Serious Side Effects

Some side effects of Toposar are potentially serious and should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider. These include but are not limited to:
  • Signs of an infection, such as:


    • Fever
    • Chills
    • Aches and pains
    • Sore throat
    • Painful urination
  • Signs of anemia, such as:
    • Extreme weakness or fatigue
    • Pale skin
    • Shortness of breath
    • Dizziness
  • Any unusual bleeding or bruising
  • Mouth or throat sores, ulcers, or blisters
  • Swelling, burning, stinging, pain, or leakage of fluid around your infusion site (the site where you receive your dose)
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, especially while receiving your infusion, such as:


    • Chills
    • Fever
    • A fast heart rate (tachycardia)
    • A rash
    • Hives
    • Itching
    • Swelling of the mouth, tongue, face, lips, or throat
    • Difficulty breathing or swallowing
    • A feeling of tightness in the throat
    • Sudden cough
    • Sweating
    • Chills
    • Fever
    • Dizziness or fainting
  • Loss of vision
  • Signs of liver problems, such as:
    • Yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes (jaundice)
    • Dark urine
    • Upper-right abdominal (stomach) pain
  • Persistent diarrhea or vomiting
  • Burning, tingling, pricking, numbness, or other unusual sensations in the arms, hands, legs, or feet
  • Signs of dehydration, such as:
    • Thirst
    • Dry mouth and lips
    • Lightheadedness
    • Less frequent urination.
