Using echinacea, receiving live vaccines, or taking certain other medications in combination with Toposar may increase your risk for potentially serious side effects or decrease the effectiveness of the chemotherapy drug. Potential interactions should be discussed with your healthcare provider before starting Toposar treatment. He or she may need to monitor you more closely, adjust your dosages, or recommend different medications.

An Overview of Interactions With Toposar

Toposar® (etoposide injection) may interact with a number of other medications. Some of the drugs that may react with Toposar include but are not limited to:
  • Amphotericin B (Abelcet®, AmBisome®, Amphotec®)
  • Aripiprazole (Abilify®)
  • Atovaquone (Mepron®)
  • Certain biologic and immunologic medications, such as:
