If you have problems with your heart, liver, or kidneys, you may not be able to safely use the nicotine lozenge. Other precautions include warnings of potential complications this drug may cause, such as a fast heart rate and high blood pressure. In addition, do not use these lozenges if you are using any other nicotine-containing product, as it may result in a nicotine overdose.

What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider Before Using the Nicotine Lozenge?

You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to using the nicotine lozenge (Nicorette® Lozenge) if you have:
 
 
Also, let your healthcare provider know if you are:
 
  • Pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant
  • Breastfeeding.
 
Make sure to tell your healthcare provider about all other medications you are taking, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
