Dosing Information

The dose that your healthcare provider recommends will vary, depending on a number of factors, including:
 
  • Your height and weight
  • The type of cancer being treated
  • How you respond to Hycamtin (especially whether you develop dangerous side effects)
  • Other medications you are taking (your particular chemotherapy regimen)
  • Other medical conditions you may have.
     
As is always the case, do not adjust your dose unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.

Side Effects of Hycamtin

As with any medicine, Hycamtin may cause side effects. Like most forms of chemotherapy, Hycamtin is capable of causing serious side effects.
 
Some of the possible side effects include but are not limited to:
 
  • Anemia
  • Low white blood cells
  • Low blood platelets
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea.
