After the
lobectomy is finished, your skin is sewn back together with stitches and covered with a bandage. Sometimes the skin or the layers of tissue beneath it may not heal well. This can happen because of an infection or swelling. It can also happen in people who are obese, or who have other health concerns such as
diabetes.
If the incision doesn't heal well, it may need extra attention. This can include changing the bandage daily, or possibly having additional surgery. It may take extra time for the wound to heal, and your scar may also be thicker and more obvious.
