Lung Problems After Lobectomy

There are several kinds of lung problems that can happen with a lobectomy. Some of these include:

  • Pneumonia
  • Blood or fluid in or outside the lung
  • Bleeding
  • Lung failure.

Patients who already have lung disease have a greater chance of experiencing lung problems after lobectomy. The treatment for a lung problem will depend on how it happened and how severe it is. If there is a problem, your healthcare professional will talk with you about what the best treatment is for your situation.
