Etopophos Drug Interactions

Etopophos Drug Interactions Explained

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when Etopophos is combined with any of the drugs listed above.
Amphotericin B
Combining Etopophos with amphotericin B could increase your risk for amphotericin B side effects, such as kidney damage, low blood pressure (hypotension), and breathing problems. Your healthcare provider may choose to monitor you more closely if you use these medicines together.
Etopophos may increase blood levels of aripiprazole, which could increase your risk for side effects. If you use these medicines together, make sure to tell your healthcare provider if you experience any potential side effects. He or she may choose to adjust your dose.
Atovaquone may increase blood levels of Etopophos, increasing your risk for side effects. It is recommended that atovaquone not be given for at least two days before or two days after Etopophos to avoid the possibility of this interaction.
Biologic and Immunologic Medications
Combining Etopophos with biologic and immunologic medications that suppress the immune system could increase your risk for potentially serious side effects, including low blood cell counts and infections. Etopophos should not be used in combination with some biologics or immunologic medicines, while other combinations will require dose adjustments or careful monitoring. Talk to your healthcare provider about this potential interaction if you are taking biologic or immunologic medicines.
Combining clozapine and Etopophos may increase the risk for dangerously low white blood cell counts, thereby increasing your risk for potentially serious infections. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking clozapine during Etopophos treatment. However, do not stop taking clozapine unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.
